Titan® 12-Turn 550 Modified Motor
The Rustler includes a powerful Titan 12T 550 modified motor with internal cooling fan. An industry first for this class of truck. The Titan’s over-sized armature (30% larger compared to 540-sized armatures) is equipped with 12-turns of pure copper wire for big torque and increased power-handling capabilities. Lower running temperatures are achieved with the integrated cooling fan. The Titan 12T requires very little maintenance and is designed for consistent torque and high speeds from run to run, without fading.

Beyond the specs, the Titan 12T is made for dirt-roosting torque, lightning-quick acceleration, big-air jumps, and just about any other 4-wheel fun that demands real horsepower. Be sure to check out the videos to see it in action!

 

XL-5 Electronic Speed Control
The XL-5 Electronic Speed Control smoothly supplies power to the motor. This high-performance ESC is packed with impressive specifications that are normally only found on more expensive high-end replacement units. The XL-5 features three throttle profiles, thermal shutdown protection, 4-8 cell compatibility, and built in BEC. High frequency operation combined with ultra-low resistance make the XL-5 an efficient and ultra-smooth fully proportional speed control. An exclusive feature on the XL-5 is the patent pending Training Mode™. This profile reduces the overall power output of the XL-5 by 50% making it easier for young or new drivers to develop their control skills before unleashing full-power operation.

Securely Mounted Electronics
The ESC and receiver are screwed to the chassis for ultimate mounting security. There’s no servo tape to loosen over time with dirt, heat, and collisions.




New Gray Parts
The durable monocoque chassis tub is made from highest quality nylon composites. Many parts including the chassis, shock bodies, and transmission housing are now molded in gray for a fresh new look.

 

Revo®-spec Torque-Control™ Slipper Clutch
Revo technology is utilized to manage the increased power from the Titan 12T motor. The Torque-Control slipper clutch uses special semi-metallic friction material and finned aluminum alloy pressure plates to dissipate heat and provide consistent traction control. The semi-metallic friction material remains stable across a wide temperature range to provide smooth, linear engagement you can count on, run after run. Spur gears can be removed and replaced without altering the slipper adjustment.

 

Tires and Wheels
The Rustler comes with the impressive 2.8” All-Star™ mirror-chrome wheels. Alias™ rear tires with a step-pin design, front Alias ribbed tires for superior control, and foam inserts help keep the truck firmly planted on extreme off-road terrain.

The All-Star wheels feature a lightweight horizontal bead that holds the tire to the rim even under extreme rpm. Performance-designed foam inserts are standard and all tires come pre-glued from the factory to get you rolling right out of the box.

Powder Coated White Springs
White springs feature a race-tuned spring rate for more responsive handling and the long-lasting, white powder coated finish sets Rustler apart from the pack.



Included Optional Pinion Gear
The Rustler reaches its blistering 35+mph top speed on-road using the optional 28-tooth pinion gear (included) and a 7-cell 8.4V battery pack (sold separately). Out of the box, the installed 23-tooth pinion gear is just right for all-around, on or off-road action.

 

 

ProGraphix® Bodies
The Rustler's fully trimmed and painted ProGraphix body is available in Red, Blue, Black, and White/Gunmetal. Decals are also applied to save you time and get you driving just minutes out of the box. Traxxas’ ProGraphix bodies are the hottest looking bodies around and are only available on Traxxas Ready-to-Race® models.

 

New Motor Mount with Cooling Channels
The sealed gearbox protects the transmission components from dirt and rocks. The molded motor plate now includes finned cooling channels where the motor mounts to the motor plate. The cooling channels work in conjunction with the internal Titan 12T motor fan to pull air through the motor for superior cooling.

 

High-Torque Steering Servo
A race truck needs a powerful steering servo for responsive performance. An included Traxxas high-torque steering servo comes standard for enhanced steering authority and reliability.

 

Oil-Filled Ultra Shocks™
Rustler's oil-filled Ultra Shocks utilize X-ring technology for a perfect seal and super-smooth performance. They are fully tunable with a wide range of oils, springs, and pistons. Features include pressure bladders for air/oil separation and spring clips to precisely change the ride height and spring pre-load. They can be renewed in minutes with our inexpensive rebuild kits.

 

Magnum 272™ Transmission
The Magnum 272 transmission is assembled with ultra-smooth sealed ball bearings. Combined with the smooth 48-pitch gears, power is delivered quietly to the durable telescoping U-joint drive shafts. The sealed gearbox protects the transmission components from dirt and rocks. Patent Pending.

 

Planetary Gear Differential
The Traxxas planetary gear differential uses hardened steel internal gears for maximum strength during rigorous off-road bashing. This type of differential requires virtually no maintenance and its efficient design puts maximum tire-shredding power to the wheels.

 

Fiber Composite Arms
Proven suspension geometry is carried over from the race-winning Traxxas SRT. Solid, durable camber links take the guess work out of set-up and are captured to keep you on the track even when the going gets rough. Captured rod ends provide unmatched durability and they simply won't pop off.

 

Bellcrank Steering
High-performance bellcrank steering system minimizes bump steer to increase cornering stability.

 

Telescoping Driveshafts
Slider driveshafts are extremely durable, and they allow greater articulation for increased suspension travel.

 

TQ Radio System
The included TQ radio system includes a high-power transmitter with a specially designed comfort grip, a precise high-torque steering servo, and a compact receiver. The perfectly balanced TQ transmitter features servo reversing, a low battery indicator, electronic trim control, and it is digitally proportional for precise steering and throttle control.
