DETAILS :: BALANCE

Jato’s unique layout and design provides nearly perfect weight distribution and chassis balance. In another Jato first, the TRX 2.5 Racing Engine™ is precisely positioned so that its weight and mass is on the centerline of the chassis. Others hang the engine off the left side of the chassis creating uneven weight distribution and the potential for unbalanced handling. Jato has near perfect left/right weight distribution. Jato’s fuel tank is also positioned low in the chassis, along the centerline. Jato keeps the heaviest parts of the truck low in the center of the chassis, closer to the center of gravity. This allows Jato to provide more responsive handling and greater stability. In racing applications, the EZ-Start® can be removed allowing the engine to be positioned lower in the chassis for an even lower center of gravity and better flywheel access for starter boxes.

DETAILS :: ADJUSTABILITY

Jato® has all the tuning capability you expect from a high performance 2WD racing truck. On the suspension, camber and front toe are adjustable with the included steel turnbuckles. Rear toe can be precisely adjusted by changing the aluminum tie bar. Front caster is adjustable with optional 25-degree steering blocks (30-degrees of front caster is standard). Rear antisquat is adjustable with degreed suspension pin mounts. Front roll center can be quickly adjusted by adding or removing spacers under the inner camber link mounts on the rear, multiple mounting positions are provided for the inner camber link. The GTR shocks are fully tuneable with various springs and oil weight. Ride height can be precisely set with the threaded adjusters on the shocks. Multiple shock mounting positions on the tower and in the arm control ride height, progressive rate, and suspension travel.

The slipper clutch has a broad range of tuning adjustment for precise traction control. The limited-slip action of the differential can be tuned with different weight oils. The shift point of the 2-speed can be adjusted to allow shifting where you need it most. The receiver battery position can also be used to tune chassis balance.

Just about every tuning aspect of Jato can be customized to suit the needs of the pro-level racer. Not into that? Don’t worry. Jato comes out of the box with an excellent, well-balanced set-up with predictable handling that will allow anyone to be faster right from the start.

Jato is equipped with the award winning TRX 2.5 Racing Engine, the most powerful RTR smallblock engine available. The TRX 2.5 Racing Engine features a two-needle composite slide carb; multi-port rear exhaust; and an easy-revving, super-wide power band. The specially designed pipe and header combo is dyno-tuned to increase low and mid-range punch for tire melting launches.
