If you are the original owner of a TRAXXAS engine, you may exchange your old (broken, worn out, etc.) TRAXXAS engine for a new one at 50% of the suggested retail price of a new TRX Pro .15 at the time of the exchange. All Amounts are in US dollars:

The Lifetime Engine Replacement Plan has been extended to include the TRX 2.5 Racing Engine. We will accept used TRX 2.5 engines returned complete with the components as shown below, and exchange it for a brand new TRX 2.5 engine with a recoil pull starter. Be sure to keep your EZ-Start components. The cost is $100 + $5 shipping and handling (total $105).

Exchange Pro .15 for new Pro .15 (without recoil starter)= $60 + $5 shipping and handling (total $65)

Exchange Pro .15 for new Pro .15 (with recoil starter) = $70 + $5 shipping and handling (total $75)

Exchange a TRX 2.5 Racing Engine for a new TRX 2.5 Racing Engine with recoil pull starter = $100 + $5 shipping and handling (total $105)

Texas residents must add 8.25% sales tax to the engine price.

 NOTE: Preparing the engine for shipping

Remove:

  • Exhaust header
  • EZ-Start drive
  • Air filter
  • Clutch assembly

Do not Remove:

  • Cooling head
  • Carburetor
  • Pull starter (if equipped)
If your engine was equipped with the the EZ-Starter, do not return the EZ-Start drive.

The engine being exchanged must be complete with the head, carburetor, and starter, Save shipping time and cost by purchasing the replacement engine from your hobby dealer, or you can order directly from TRAXXAS.

Engines equipped with the Traxxas EZ-Start™ require the exchange/purchase of a TRX Pro .15 with recoil starter (models 4007, 08, 09, and 10). TRX Pro .15's without pull start are equipped with finned alluminum backplates (models 4003, 04, and 06). and have no provision for either a recoil pull starter or Traxxas EZ-Start™.

All other exchange engines must be equipped with a recoil starter in order to be eligible for an exchange/purchase of a starter-equipped TRX Pro .15.
