Bark River, MI: Rounds 3 & 4 of THE Traxxas TORC series (THE Off Road Championship) were very good to Pro Light star Marty Hart, who won the Saturday and Sunday races at Bark River Raceway and pocketed $12,000 in cash for his efforts.

The Traxxas Pro Light class gives drivers the opportunity to compete for more than just trophies and series points. Traxxas has joined forces with TORC to raise the Traxxas Pro Light series purse to historic levels. The top spot on the podium for each race pays $5,000, while second and third earn $2,500 and $1,500 respectively. Even drivers who don’t make it to the podium stand to earn dollars, with payouts all the way to tenth place.

In addition to the money guaranteed to the top-ten drivers, there’s also an additional $1,000 Traxxas Maxx® Lap cash payout to the driver of the fastest lap in each round. That makes each race weekend worth nearly $28,000 in cash rewards for the Traxxas Pro Light class alone. Winning drivers in the class are enjoying the biggest purse structure ever offered by the TORC series. Marty Hart took home the maximum possible payout for the weekend with wins in both rounds of Traxxas Pro Light and the fastest lap time for each race as well, netting the Maxx Lap bonus in each round. At $5,000 for each win and $1,000 for each Maxx Lap, that’s $12,000 for a weekend behind the wheel.

The Traxxas Pro Light class allows traditional 4-cylinder engines and spec V8 crate engines to run together. The close racing and Marty Hart’s convincing wins in his 4 cylinder Pro Light is a testimony to the excellent job done by USAC in equalizing the power output across the various engine types. Now the points leader in the Traxxas Pro Light class, Marty Hart must defend his lead against the hard-charging Andrew Caddell (Traxxas) and Casey Currie (Monster Energy), and the rest of the Traxxas Pro Light field.

There are 8 more Rounds of TORC racing to go, and with the lucrative purses and Maxx Lap dollars at stake, the competition will be intense. Catch all the action with live streaming coverage at USACracing.com, and 26 weeks of full HD television coverage begins in the fall on Discovery HD Theatre.
